Loads we plan around

These are the four most common Long Island add-ons that push panels to their limit.

Tesla / EV charger

32A–60A continuous

Wall Connector, ChargePoint, NEMA 14-50. 40A is most common.

Heat pump

30A–60A continuous

Mitsubishi, Carrier, Bosch. Often replaces both AC and furnace circuits.

Induction range

40A–50A

Full-size induction ranges need 40A minimum. More if oven + cooktop.

Pool / hot tub

40A–60A

GFCI-protected, bonded circuit. Heater, pump, light typically share the panel.

Why plan it before you buy it

A Tesla Wall Connector by itself won't tip most panels. A Tesla plus a heat pump plus an induction range will. Getting the load calc done before you buy equipment means you can decide whether to size down, add a subpanel, or do the panel upgrade first.

  • Know whether your panel carries it before buying equipment
  • Get the right answer — subpanel, upgrade, or keep as-is
  • Plan permit and PSEG timing around your delivery date
  • Avoid tripped breakers and blown neutrals down the line
